Welcome, students, to today’s lesson in potions. Turn your books to chapter three and we can get started.

This chapter is going to cover what I call secondary potions. These are your potions that are just one step up from the basics. Instead of a water bottle, the ingredients to these potions need to be brewed in an awkward potion of any shape.

Keep in mind that each of the potions that I am about to show you are going to contain a single ingredient brewed into an awkward potion. This isn’t going to include the potion of weakness or other fermented spider eye variants of a potion. You only need one of a given ingredient to make up to three potions.

1) Potion of Swiftness

The Potion of Swiftness is a sugar rush in a bottle without the crash. Brew a spoonful of sugar into an awkward potion and get three minutes of 20% speed. The effects after drinking it will show up as little light blue, almost teal, bubbles. You’ll also find its effects icon at the top right corner of your screen. In this case, the icon is a speeding boot.

Any questions so far…? …No…? Ok. Let’s keep going =).

2) Potion of Leaping

That occasional lucky rabbits' foot that you find dropped from a bunny, or handed to you by your cat, can come in handy when you need that boost in a jump. Its effects are shown as bright green bubbles with arrows at the top right of your screen.

3) Potion of Strength

A Potion of Strength needs the same thing that fuels your brewing stand. Take some of your blaze powder and brew it into your awkward potions for three minutes of added attack damage. It effects show up as dark red bubbles with a shimmering sword icon at the top right of your screen.

4) Potion of Healing

Potions of Healing are pretty self-explanatory. They have no duration, bubbles, or icons to speak of. One glistening melon brewed into awkward potions will restore roughly four hearts in an instant.

5) Potion of Poison

Spiders eye, when added to your awkward potions, will create a Potion of Poison. If you come into contact with this potion, you’ll experience a steady decrease in your health until there is only half a heart left. Its effects show up as grass green bubbles with a green bubbles and skull icon in the top right of your screen.

This potion will only last for forty-five seconds. The potion isn't meant to kill its target. Only to severely wound them. We’ll cover how to stop the effects before the time is up at the end of the lesson.

6) Potion of Regeneration

Potion of regeneration is meant to do the opposite of poison. Regenerating your heath gradually for forty-five seconds. Its effects appear as pink bubbles and a heart icon at the top right of your screen. The one thing you need to brew this potion is a single ghast tear.

7) Potion of Fire Resistance

The Potion of Fire Resistance can be a life saver while exploring the Nether. Brew one ball magma cream into your awkward potions for the ability to give yourself momentary immunity to fire related damage. The effects last around three minutes and show up as orange bubbles with a fiery shield icon in the top right of your screen.

8) Potion of Water Breathing

Need to do something with all of the pufferfish you caught on your last fishing trip? Brew a few of them into awkward potions to make Potions of Water Breathing. Drinking this will give you three minutes without needing air for underwater adventures. This shows up as navy blue bubbles with clear bubbles in an icon at the top right of your screen.

9) Potion of Night Vision

You’ll find Potions of Night vision helpful in both seeing at night and into the water. A golden carrot brewed into awkward potions will give you three minutes of night vision. Showing up as dark blue bubbles with a night sky eye icon in the top right of your screen. You won’t have the same vision clarity once you’ve entered water. However, it’s cool to look over the ocean biomes after drinking a Potion of Night vision.

10) Potion of the Turtle Master

Potion of the Turtle master trades one ability for another. While you’ll be notably slower than normal for the next twenty seconds, you’ll gain significant resistance to overall damage. You’ll need a turtle shell to brew into your awkward potions. Once it’s been consumed, you’ll find grey bubbles with a weighted icon and a shield icon at the top right of your screen.

11) Potion of Slow Falling

Last but not least is the Potion of Slow Falling. Once you’ve brewed a piece of phantom membrane into your awkward potions, the result is a potion capable of slowing your fall and avoiding fall damage. Drinking it will give you one minute and thirty seconds of this effect. Showing itself as white bubbles with a feather's icon at the top right of your screen.

Keep in mind that almost every potion or bubbling effect you come across can be cured by drinking a bucket of milk. Hopefully, you’ve found today’s lesson helpful. Class dismissed. Thanks for reading!
