Chibi Builds: Village Makeover Part 2
I’m taking a village in Minecraft apart and redoing it one building at a time. Today we’re going to tackle a 2-door house.
Last time, Ya’ll saw the process of redoing one out of three temples. This time around, I’ll be reconstructing the 2-door house that every villager in here tries to hide from the village. Since it seems to be the village safe haven, I’m going to make it a big 2-story house.
Like the last time, I’m going to be using the type of blocks used to build the original. However, I’ll be adding extra parts for a bit of my own personal touch. The list of items that I ended up using are as follows
Oak wood log, planks, stairs, fence, door and pressure plate. Cobblestone blocks, Mossy cobblestone blocks, cobblestone stairs and mossy cobblestone stairs. Glass panes, yellow beds, chests, torches, a furnace and a crafting table.
My first step was to level the building and start outlining the new foundation. It was a bit of trial and error, but I ended up with this polygon sort of floor plan. I kept it at ground level and left an area for a total of three doors on the first floor.
After the basics were down, I got started on building up to the second floor. Including the oak wood stairs and putting in the first-floor glass panes. Cobblestone stairs were placed upside down over where the doors would go. The only reason for this part is because I tried it at one point during a different build and thought it looked cool. Now it’s common practice for me.
The second floor would be reserved for a bunch of beds. Villagers during thunderstorms or difficult nights would have a hard time staying indoors, so hopefully this helps. Keeping similar window positioning helped fill out some of the empty wall space above one of the doors.
Once the second floor was done, I got to work on the roof. I was taking inspiration from the other types of village roofs while doing this. While it doesn’t look like any normal village house, it at least fits the theme.
Interior design for the first floor was kept relatively simple. At first, I wanted to put in a kitchen in the separated area. Nothing was really looking right to me due to the rooms size. So, I switched it out for a dining area and put the furnace and crafting table under the stairs. Placing a couple chests in for storage and some bookshelves for color.
Eventually, some of the beds were separated and more chests were set up by most of the beds. The villagers were quick to move in after the beds were ready. I think they liked the set up.
Thankfully the stairs at the door didn't get in the way of golems getting rid of the bunch of zombies piling up at the different doors. I think the house turned out pretty cute. What do you think? I’ll see you next time with a new building redo until this entire village has new and improved buildings. Thanks for reading.
