Chibi Builds: Village Makeover Part 1

Nightmare notes

I’m taking a small village that I found in my writing seed and giving it a full makeover.

When I’m writing these articles, I have a separate world for all of my builds and cover photo needs. While branching out to other areas of the seed, I found this small village in a vast field of flowers. While I’ve done village home improvement before in an article, I got an idea. Maybe I’ll try a short series where I give this little village a makeover and show its progress one building at a time. There are also parts of this village that could make room for other buildings. Maybe other jobs will be added, or just more homes. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there

I decided to start off with this cleric's temple. There’s 3 total in this village in particular, so I’ll try to give each one a unique look while using the same materials. I’ll likely added to it with other materials, but the basics will be including its fundamental materials.

The blocks that make up this temple are as follows.

Cobblestone block, stair, wall, and slab. White and yellow glass panes. Oak door, ladder, torches, mossy cobblestone, and a brewing stand.

Later on, I went and used the following materials to add to the build.

A water bucket, bookshelves, chests, oak wood stairs, trap door, banners, magenta and yellow carpet.

This isn’t going to be a step-by-step build. Instead, it’ll be more of a walk along this process. As long as everyone is on the same page, let’s get started

I start the build off by taking down the entire building. After clearing the area, I adjust the ground level foundation to make room for changes. Here, I widened the space a bit towards the back of the building. Keeping the front almost the same, except for the doorway.

The first floor is going to be home to a water source for all potion brewing needs. After setting up the 2-door entry, I started on a designated area for water with a stairway to the second floor on the other side. The outside torches were put back to where they were before I started on symmetrical windows. The room was later decorated with a cleric themed banner and some matching carpet. Chests and bookshelves are strategically placed to fill in the bald spots.

Once the first floor was done, I got to work on the second floor. It has a single beam of cobblestone for ladders. This will lead to the tower at the top of the build. Later on, I decorated it with more banners, carpet, chests, bookshelves and oak stairs. One of the oak stairs are placed upside down to hold the brewing stand. The others are placed near bookshelves for sitting

The tower structure was similar to the original. There’s even a small room just before the top. However, walls were put in place instead of blocks for the very top. A trap door was also added that can be opened or closed from the tiny third room.

Once it was all done, I waited to see if the cleric would be able to use it without getting stuck somewhere. Sometimes a villager needs a few minutes before they figure out how to maneuver around new structures. However, the population of the village dropped drastically during construction, and I needed to spawn in new villagers. Next time, we’ll probably work on lighting. Thanks for reading.
